My Character Whisperer

I have a good blog for once. One that isn't a rant or a gripe. This means that it's probably going to be short. :P I just wanted to share that I've actually found a writing partner that seriously sits down and takes the time to psychoanalyze my character. I've never had that happen before and, believe me, I've never ever seen a 'Character Whisperer'. Issues that I thought were going to ruin the game, he broke down and got to the root of what caused them and in so doing, learned how to manipulate the little twat into doing exactly what he wanted and made the story run like a well oiled jet engine. So far. I'm pleased as punch! :) It's really amazing to see my characters manipulated with a proficiency that makes me wonder why I can't do those things to my own character. Sure I can put thoughts into their heads to make them consider a point and change their minds about something but he just… wow. The issue was that she didn't want to be part of a harem. She came from a world which is just like Earth though set in the future. She crash landed in a world where men ruled the domains and the wealthy own many slave girls. All women are enslaved and cared for by men. We decided out of character that he'd give the harem away and keep her. I felt bad about his, especially because if I'd spoken up more about my distaste for harem games, he'd have went with the first option in my request. Both characters are going to meet in the middle for a compromise. My first private message to the male stated that I didn't like harem games and if it had to be a harem game that she should at least become his favorite slave. She dug her heels in hard, hated the other women, didn't even want to meet them. After his diagnosis, *chuckles*, he was able to play his female slaves in a way that made her warm up to them and then… lo and behold, bam! he's got my character worried about the other women, worried about their happiness, and now, she's more worried about the women and Master being happy than she is about returning home. Now what she wants him to keep the harem, just to allow the guards to enjoy them too, so that they're not lonely. I have to say, I think that I'll hang onto this guy. My Character Whisperer.
